2010 Schedule and Registration Forms Now Available!
We're already into February and the 2010 Niagara Men's Tour season is quickly approaching!
Your Tour committee has put the finishing touches on the Schedule for 2010 and we have another solid lineup on tap. The Tour's opening event will once again double as the Spring Qualifier and will be held, as usual, at Peninsula Lakes GC. We then move onto Thundering Waters GC for the second event and return to Sawmill GC for the first time since the Tour's first year for the third event. Event four will take place at Ussher's Creek at Legends on the Niagara while event five will be held at LochNess Links. The Tour's final event will be held at Battlefield at Legends on the Niagara, the first time the Tour has held an event at that course.
Registration forms can be found in the right side bar. A list of all exempt players for 2010 can be found at the Players page. The entry fee for exempt players in 2010 will be $440.00. The Exempt Players Registration Form (PDF) needs to be printed, filled out and sent to Willie Ormerod or dropped off at Nevada Bob's, along with a cheque for $440.00 before April 16, 2010. Alternatively, the Tour will also accept two post-dated cheques: $220.00 on April 16, 2010 and $220.00 on June 13, 2010. The Tour will also accept Interac payment of entry fees - you can email your entry form (Excel version) along with payment to mbosela1@cogeco.ca.
The Tour entry fee covers the player's green fee for each event on the schedule, skins money for each event, closest to the pin prizes, vouchers for each event, the year-end prize table and also a meal at the Sawmill event. The only things NOT covered by the entry fee are the optional 50/50 draws that are held for each event and carts. Carts will be mandatory for the two Legends on the Niagara events due to the long distances between holes and will be approximately $17.00 per player, with money to be paid directly to the pro shop. Carts will be provided at Thundering Waters for all players at no additional charge.
While they are held at the same time, the 2010 Spring Qualifier is run as a separate event and therefore, there is a different entry fee structure that goes along with it. If you are interested in attempting to qualify for the 2010 Nevada Bob's Men's Tour, please click on the Qualifier Registration Form, print it off and fill out the entire sheet. You can send this form, along with a cheque for $75.00 (Qualifier Entry Fee) to Tour committee member Willie Ormerod, whose address is indicated on the form. Alternatively, entry forms and payment can be dropped off to Tour sponsor Nevada Bob's Golf, located on Ontario Street in St. Catharines. Also, the Tour will allow participants to submit their registration forms and payment online through INTERAC Email Money Transfer. You can send your entry form (Excel version) and payment to mbosela1@cogeco.ca. Potential qualifiers must submit their registration form and entry fee by April 16, 2010. There will be a separate skins game available for potential qualifiers at $10.00 per player and this is completely optional.
The Tour committee will let all qualifiers know how many exempt positions will be available before they tee off. The players who put up the best 18-hole score will gain exempt status for the rest of the season and their point total for that event will count toward the Order of Merit. The entry fee for the last five events on the 2010 Nevada Bob's Men's Tour is $390.00 - successful qualifiers will need to pay off that balance over the course of the next two events, with $170.00 due by the second event and a post-dated cheque for $220.00 should also be issued at that time dated for June 13, 2010.

Roger Perry Wins Fall Qualifier; Eleven Players Gain Exempt Status for 2010
Roger Perry from Rolling Meadows GCC put together a fine round of 75 (+3) to win the 2009 Fall Qualifier being held at Riverview GC by one shot over the host club's Joe Buote.
Perry fashioned nines of 39 and 36 to take top spot in the qualifier, which saw 34 participants playing for nine available spots plus ties. Perry immediately becomes the favourite for the Niagara Golf Report Rookie of the Year award for 2010.

Tee Times for Fall Qualifier at Riverview Now Online
Tee off times for the Fall Qualifier for the 2010 Nevada Bob's Men's Tour at Riverview Golf Course on Sunday September 20th are now available.
We ask that you show up to sign in at least a half hour before your tee off time. There are scheduled to be nine spots available for next year's tour in this qualifier. Keep in mind that there will be an optional skins game run on the day, with entry being $10.00.

Tony Ravenda Takes Crown at Whirlpool; Kyle Smith Wins Overall Title for 2009
Tour veteran Tony Ravenda notched his second career win on the Nevada Bob's Men's Tour, firing a one under par round of 71 at Whirlpool Golf Club to win the sixth and final leg on the 2009 schedule by three shots over Mike Bedard from LochNess Links.
Ravenda, who had to endure rainy conditions for the first five holes in an early morning tee time, put together nines of 35 and 36, making eagle on the last hole, two birdies, twelve pars and three bogeys.
Interestingly enough, Ravenda's other victory on Tour also came at Whirlpool back in 2004.
