Tour veteran Bob Goss from Pelham Hills finished 2nd all alone with a 75. Tour Chairman Bernie Bodogh, from St. Catharines G&CC tied for 3rd place with Rockway Glen's cross-handed sensation Andrew Wood, with both notching 77's. Tied for 5th place on the day were Rick Henderson from Twenty Valley, Tour rookies Taylor Boyd and Corey Fiwchuk, both GAO members and another longtime Tour member, Beechwood's own John Rodwell, all of whom notched rounds of 78. The defending Tour Champion Jim Briggs, a GAO member, shot 79 and tied for 9th place with Bridgewater's Gord Henderson, Adam Martin from Port Colborne, Tony Ravenda from Thundering Waters along with smooth-swinging Tim McGlynn and big-hitting Frank Mortensen, both from Lookout Point.
Patience was key on this day for all of the Tour's participants, as tee times were moved back late in the day due to an overbooked golf course and close to 20 players finished in darkness.
There were only 3 skins on the day, with each worth a cool $190. Winners were Bob Goss with a birdie 3 on #5, Adam Martin with a birdie 3 on #8 and Tour rookie Nick Pasquale with a birdie 3 on #16.
There were four closest to the hole awards at Grand Niagara. Jim Briggs (#6) and Brad Fleguel (#14) won $50.00 prizes while Ken Childs (#2) and Darren Mikolasek (#12) won gift certificates from Tour sponsor Hangups Sports Wear. The 50/50 prize winner was Matt Bosela, who took home $85.00.
Bob Goss moves into first place overall after two events with 252.5 points while Kenny Molkoski vaults up to second overall with 247 points. Jim Briggs, Tim McGlynn and Tony Ravenda round out the top five, with all three tied at 210 points.
