Fall Qualifier Information
The Briggsy's Sportswear and Promotion Men's Tour Fall Qualifier will be taking place on Sunday September 26th at Whirlpool Golf Course in Niagara Falls.
You can find a copy of the entry form in Excel form right here. There is a $70.00 fee for the qualifier, which will have tee times starting at about 12:30pm. There is also an optional cart fee of $15.00 and an optional skins game will also be run at a cost of $10.00 per player.
We have been told that the greens at Whirlpool are coming back nicely and will be in good shape for our qualifier. The deadline date for entry into the qualifier is Monday September 20th - entries can be either mailed to Tour co-chairman Bernie Bodogh (address noted on entry form), along with a cheque for $70.00 or alternatively, you can email your entry form to committee member Matt Bosela (mbosela1@cogeco.ca) along with payment of the $70.00 entry fee via INTERAC Email money transfer.
There will likely be ten spots open for next year's Tour at the Fall qualifier but that number is subject to change depending on the number of entrants into the qualifier.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact any members of the Tour Committee. Make sure to get those entry forms in as soon as possible, as the Tour will only accept the first 40 entries.
Tee Times For Tour Finale Now Available *UPDATED*
Tee times for the final event on the 2010 Briggsy's Sportswear and Promotion Men's Tour, taking place on Sunday August 29th at LochNess Links in Welland are now available.
The Tour committee asks that everyone show up at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tee time in order to register. We had a number of participants arrive late at our last event at Links of Niagara and we'd like to ensure our final event runs as smoothly as possible.
The top 30 players in the overall standings and the top 10 in the senior standings after play on Sunday will be exempt from qualifying for the 2011 Tour. The committee plans to have sign up sheets available for the Tour's fall qualifier for any participants who may not be exempt for the 2011 season. We should have information available here on the website before the end of the week regarding a date and venue for the qualifier for other potential qualifiers.
UPDATE - TUESDAY AUGUST 24th
Tee times have been changed slightly due to the fact LochNess Links preferred us to use threesomes where possible. Please consult the tee sheet to see how the changes affect you.
Bodogh Does Some Home Cooking in Win
Bernie Bodogh has a history of success at Links of Niagara at Willo Dell and once again parlayed his home course advantage into success.
The Tour co-chairman played his front nine in an impressive four under par and would hold on to fire an even par 72 to win the fifth event on the Briggsy's Sportswear and Promotion Men's Tour by a single shot over playing partner Joe Bisson and Stephen Billyard.
Bodogh actually reached five under par during his round and almost let it slip away but his six birdies, 8 pars, 2 bogeys and 2 doubles was just good enough to prevail on a day where scoring was low across the board.
The win was Bodogh's sixth on the Niagara Men's Tour and his first since winning at Rockway Glen in 2008. The six wins is second all-time in Tour history, with fellow Tour co-chairman Jim Briggs holding the record of 10 wins. This is also the second time Bodogh has prevailed at Willo Dell on the Tour - he shot a Tour record 64 (-8) to win going away in 2003.

Rookie Kerry Howe Prevails at Ussher's Creek
The freshman class on the Briggsy's Sportswear and Promotion Men's Tour in 2010 is shaping up to be the best in its history.
This was proven once again at Legends on the Niagara on the Ussher's Creek GC when Kerry Howe, who plays out of St. Catharines G&CC, became the third rookie to win already this year after a tremendous round of one under par 71.

It is the first Tour win for the 24-year old Howe, who is shown above receiving congratulations from Tour committee member Bob Goss. That said, he proved he has the explosive game to contend for years to come after overcoming both a double bogey and a triple bogey on consecutive holes in the middle of his front nine. Howe made two eagles and four birdies during his tumultuous round, where he went out in 38 shots but shot a sizzling incoming score of 33 to win the event, sponsored by Chris Lewis and Lakefront Windows, by one shot over Tour veteran Tony Ravenda.
This win by Howe continues the tremendous run of success for players who weren't on the Tour last year, as all four winners of this year's events are either rookies (Evan Angi, Dave Toulouse and Howe) or players who returned after an extended absence (Stephen Billyard).
